Model with Head Scarf

This portrait of our model recalls the St. Fabiola  pictures collected by Francis Alys. Of course the direction is reversed and the headdress minimal. But for Fabiola, however, I would have moved my chair and painted from a more interesting vantage point than the profile.  Click on this  link to see the cult of art surrounding the semi mythical saint Fabiola first painted by Jean-Jacques Henner and exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1885. Honestly most of the copyists did not produce anything better than my portrait.  The impact is the collection.
